Moya Aldridge

Moya Aldridge (she/her) is a composer and performer of rock, jazz, avant-garde music, and performance pieces that have been received with enthusiasm by diverse artists such as Nico Muhly, and Jonathan Snipes of the experimental hip hop group clipping. Terrifying yet vulnerable, her music is frequently characterized by electroacoustic sound design, walls of noise, expanded rock ensembles, and a desire to tell an imaginative story. Moya plays trumpet and percussion; she was the drummer in an abrasive math punk duo while holding the position of principal trumpet in the Interlochen Orchestra. In 2016 she contributed sound design and played percussion in the Academy’s production of RENT, and in 2015 contributed music to Doghouse Ensemble Theatre’s production of Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead. She is skilled in compositional and performance applications of Max/MSP and Logic Pro X. Moya is pursuing a degree in Technology and Applied Composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She graduated high honors with distinction from Interlochen Arts Academy as double major in composition and trumpet performance.
