Spencer Channell

Spencer Channell (he/him) is a composer, music director/accompanist, writer (poet, playwright, screenwriter), filmmaker, and actor from Columbus, Ohio. At Interlochen Arts Academy, he worked with Doghouse Ensemble Theatre on Elegies: A Song Cycle and Mass Cycle: A Meditation on Cancer. Since age 12, Spencer has music directed or played keyboards in over thirty musical theater productions, including Available Light Theatre’s iterations of Sondheim’s Assassins and Merrily We Roll Along (featured in the 2016 documentary Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened), as well as Finn’s Falsettos. He hosts a storytelling podcast, Run With That, has given several TED talks on music and leadership, and has served as writer, composer, actor, sound designer, cinematographer, editor, or director for a number of youth, adult, short, and feature films, including several award-winning music videos. At Interlochen, he received the Fine Arts Award in Composition and the coveted Young Artist Award.
